If you work in a location where you work with biohazardous materials, you already know the potential risks associated with a spill in your environment. There are a few different things incorporated in cleaning up a biohazard spill and keeping workers safe.
Your work area more than likely contains a safety shower, eye wash station and a hand washing sink as permanent fixtures. There should also be at least one biohazard spill kit on hand and well stocked at all times. Rules about what a kit must have can vary by location, but you can normally anticipate these things to be necessary at a least: eye protection, gloves, shoe covers, respirators or masks, biohazard bags, disinfectants for cleaning the affected area, sharps containers and tools for picking up sharp objects or broken glass.
